INCLUDING THE WILDERNESS LAND TRUST
IN YOUR Estate Planning

The goal of the Wilderness Land Trust is to eliminate inholdings within the National Wilderness Preservation System. Your estate planning can help achieve this goal, which is capital intensive and will take many generations to accomplish.

Here is sample language for the four most common types of bequests. You may want to discuss these with your attorney as you work on revising your will:

Specific Property: I give, devise, and bequeath to the Wilderness Land Trust, PO Box 1420, Carbondale, Colorado, 81623, the following property: _________ [identify an investment position or provide the legal description of a piece of real estate].

Dollar Amount: I give, devise, and bequeath to the Wilderness Land Trust, PO Box 1420, Carbondale, Colorado, 81623, _____ dollars of my estate.

Percentage: I give, devise, and bequeath to the Wilderness Land Trust, PO Box 1420, Carbondale, Colorado, 81623, _____% of my estate.

Residue: I give, devise, and bequeath to the Wilderness Land Trust, PO Box 1420, Carbondale, Colorado, 81623, all the residue of my estate, including real and personal property.

If you have any questions or specific requests for a bequest, please contact Reid Haughey at 970.963.1725 or reid@wildernesslandtrust.org.
