Support a Project

Wilderness Opportunity Fund

With active projects in nearly every western state, you’ll likely find a project near or within a wild place you and your family love.  Help us protect your favorite place with a gift to specifically help on a project, or a no-interest loan to fund the acquisition of a property.  Upon completion of the project, forgiving a portion or the entirety of your loan is a wonderful way to support the Trust, or simply ask that we reinvest your dollars in the next project.

Save the California Condor Trail

The Wilderness Land Trust is currently working to protect the California Condor Trail and we need your help. The trail provides public access into the Santa Lucia and Garcia Wilderness, home to deer, bear, Perigrine Falcon, Horned Toad and other wildlife.

“We work very hard to keep this trail open,” says Kathleen Phelps, volunteer with the Los Padres Forest Association. “If The Wilderness Land Trust doesn’t purchase the property that surrounds the trail, the trail could be closed and the surrounding land developed, threatening the wildlife that calls this area home.

We are thankful to the San Luis Obispo Park and Open Space Foundation, the Backcountry Horseman’s Association, the Pacific Coast Long Riders, the Atascadero Horseman’s Association and others for giving us a solid head start by contributing to this acquisition. Please help us raise the remaining $6,550 by giving generously today. Your GoFundMe donation will support the purchase of this property and help protect it for future generations.
